Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in India. To improve early detection in
underserved communities, the Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII) initiated a mobile
cervical cancer screening program in Mysore using VIA and the Gynocular T2D device.
From November 2015 to August 2016, 199 women underwent screening. VIA was performed during
speculum exams, followed by Swede scoring using Gynocular T2D. A Swede score >4 triggered
monitoring or referral. Pap smears were conducted for selected cases.
Using Gynocular T2D in rural outreach settings not only increased diagnostic accuracy but also avoided
unnecessary referrals. This approach made cervical cancer screening more efficient and patient-centric.
GYNEYE is designed to help healthcare and research organizations deploy portable digital colposcopy workflows, structured documentation, and connected review pathways across diverse care settings. |
